Deep in college debt and struggling with chronic illness, Meredith Idlewild accepted a job as the personal assistant to a powerful CEO about five years ago. However, a good half of her job was to explain away his inconvenient absences. Eventually, she realized her boss was always gone when a certain supervillain was active.
"Once is chance, twice is coincidence, three times is conspiracy."
But as a Millennial in America in the early 2020s, Meredith can't walk away from a job with good health insurance.
Eventually, the fact that she knows came to light, when an antihero kidnapped her to try and explain who her boss was. Both the antihero, and later her boss were surprised by her rather cavalier response to the revelation. Since then, she's been brought into the villainous side of things, just a little. After all, a good personal assistant is a hard thing to find.
